The Introverts Corner →

This is a great site! In every article I see something that is so me! :-)

This quote from the very 1st article “Introverts Unite (Quietly)” really hit home with me:

“I’m not shy, socially awkward or in any way (that I know of) socially inept. I don’t hate people, I’m not unfriendly, I’m not stuck up, and I am perfectly capable of carrying on a conversation. I can even speak in public and do so fairly often. To meet me, you might think I’m extroverted.

But the difference between extroverts and introverts is not that the former are good at socializing and the latter aren’t. It’s that extroverts are outwardly focused and draw energy from social interactions while introverts are inwardly focused and drained by interactions.”

OMG, that’s totally me.  After a busy week (I teach small children so every minute of every day is filled with interactions…mine with the kids, kids interacting with kids that frequently needs my help, building interactions between kids) I’m so don with people I can’t even think about being social. I feel used up.  I just want to hole with my remote and my computer, maybe a book and my crocheting.

A few of the other articles really hit home - the one about things introverts find NOT fun, the one about how to have fun introvert style, the one about the phone, and the ones about parties!  I usually like going to parties, but I sometimes tell myself I’m leaving early only to find myself the last person there! I almost always have fun, but I’m not big on staying out till all hours of the morning and wish I could be better at doing what I need and standing up and saying “see ya later” earlier.

In any event great site! :-)
